The Sony
VAIO FRV27 laptop delivers high performance and stylish good
looks at an affordable price. At the time of writing we found new
models as low as $1145.00. The unit itself is compact but it's
not that lightweight weighing in at a solid 7.72 lbs. However
that weight is a trade off against the beautiful 15 inch screen,
which displays colours vividly and text sharply. The Sony VAIO
FRV27 also provides three USB ports and two pc card
slots. This means you can hook up multiple accessories at the
same time instead of having to disconnect from one accessory in
order to connect another one up. One thing about the Sony VAIO FRV27 that we were disappointed in was the poor battery life, sometimes under two hours. If you like to watch DVDs and are relying on battery power alone the battery will sometimes run out before the movie has finished. On the positive side the VAIO FRV27, features an integrated DVD RW CDRW drive so you can use the library of bundled software titles including Microsoft Works 7.0, Microsoft Money 2003, Intervideo WinDVD 4 for VAIO PC, Microsoft Encarta Online, Sony DVgate Plus, Sony SonicStage, Sony PictureGear and StudioExcellent. We think this machine is a nice desktop replacement, perfect as a small business machine, excellent for accounting, graphic intensive presentations, burning CDs and DVDs, creating digital photo albums and editing home movies. However the short battery life and heaviness means it is not an ideal machine for those who travel often. We hope you enjoyed reading this Sony VAIO FRV27 review.
