at under 4lbs, the slim and Light IBM X30 Thinkpad has a Pentium
3 1.06GHz CPU, 802.11b Wi-Fi Wireless connectivity and many more
features. This laptop is ideal for students wishing to lighten
the load and business people always on the road. A travelling
notebook has to be sturdy, and the IBM X30 Thinkpad passes the
toughness test as it's encased in titanium alloy, including the
screen saving lid surface. We like the battery life too,
providing between 3 and 4 hours of power. The IBM Thinkpad X30 is designed for small businesses and people who want mobility, a battery that will last, and plenty of upgradedable features. If you want to upgrade the memory, there's an empty SODIMM socket easily accessible under a plate in the base. The screen is 12.1 inches which is pretty reasonable. The Thinkpad X30 has plenty of ports including two USB sockets, VGA, firewire, a Type II PC Card slot, a CompactFlash memory card slot, and a parallel port. At the time of writing (feb 2003) we found a brand new IBM X30 Thinkpad for $1,099.99 at tigerdirect, with a warranty that included 36 months parts and 36 months labor.
